About Us

The story behind Your Cooking Corner

Our Mission

Your Cooking Corner was built with one simple goal: to make home cooking easier, more organized, and more enjoyable. We believe that everyone deserves a personal kitchen companion that helps them plan meals, track nutrition, and keep their favourite recipes in one place — without the clutter of ads-first recipe sites or complicated apps.

Whether you're a seasoned home chef perfecting a family recipe or someone just starting to explore the kitchen, Your Cooking Corner is designed to grow with you.

What We Offer

Your Cooking Corner is an all-in-one platform that brings together the tools every home cook needs:

  • Recipe Management — Store, organize, and share your recipes with detailed ingredients, step-by-step instructions, and nutrition information.
  • Meal Planning — Plan your weekly meals with an intuitive calendar. Assign recipes and snacks to specific days and meal types to stay on track.
  • Nutrition Tracking — Monitor your daily nutrition with Canadian-standard nutrition labels. Set personalized goals for calories, protein, carbs, and fat, and see how your averages compare over time.
  • Snack & Restaurant Database — Keep track of your favourite snacks and restaurant meals with full nutrition details, so you can factor them into your daily intake.
  • Grocery List — Automatically generate a shopping list from your weekly meal plan. No more forgetting ingredients at the store.
  • Cookbook Builder — Compile your best recipes into a beautiful, printable cookbook that you can flip through and share with friends and family.

Who We Are

Your Cooking Corner was created by Ben Silver, a developer and home cooking enthusiast based in Nova Scotia, Canada. What started as a personal project to organize family recipes grew into a full-featured platform that anyone can use to take control of their kitchen.

We're a small, independent project — not a large corporation. That means we can focus on building features that genuinely help home cooks rather than chasing trends. Every feature on the site was built because we needed it ourselves or because a user asked for it.

What We Believe In

  • Privacy First — Your recipes, meal plans, and nutrition data belong to you. We never sell your personal information. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.
  • Simplicity — Good tools should be easy to use. We focus on clean design and straightforward workflows so you can spend more time cooking and less time figuring out software.
  • Accuracy — Nutrition information matters. We use Canadian-standard nutrition labelling and clearly mark all automated dietary estimates as approximations, encouraging users to verify independently.
  • Made in Canada — Built, hosted, and operated from Nova Scotia, Canada, with a focus on Canadian nutrition standards and privacy legislation (PIPEDA).
